What is the best way to measure the space to fit a dresser in?
Measure the width and the depth of the space where you'd like to put a dresser. The most accurate way is to use a measuring tape. Hold the start down at the edge of the area, and let it run to the other edge. Make sure the tape is not diagonal, or else you get a value larger than the reality. If the distance is larger than what you can stretch to, ask a friend to assist, or divide what you need to measure up into multiple parts. What is the best colour for a dresser?
If you can choose between different colours for a dresser that fits your space and budget, it is useful to know what the effects of the different colours are likely to be. The two things to consider when it comes to colours is balance and associations. Balance simply means that the colours in your home should ideally be coordinated in some way, so that the space looks like a unit. Usual techniques to achieve this are considering a colour wheel, and going for colours that are either quite close to each other (colours that are only different in lightness or intensity always go together, but small variations in hue can also be fine), or relatively far or on different thirds (for example, cyan-orange-purple). How much space is needed in front of a dresser?
In order for a dresser to be usable, it requires more space on the floorplan than its size alone. You need to be able to access it and stand in front of it to get to the documents and other items kept on a dresser, and if a dresser has doors, they need to be able to be opened fully. In general, you should leave 40-60 cm in front of a dresser for access. This means, for example, a dresser that is 50 cm deep needs at least 90 cm space. Fortunately, this extra space does not need to be exclusive: access spaces of two or more pieces of furniture can overlap.
